DISH Hyping Football Package - News From the SKYREPORT

Story from the sky report 08/16/2007, please visit www.skyreport for the latest in satellite television news.

It may not be as inclusive as the NFL Sunday Ticket, but for a satellite company without exclusive rights to every professional football game, EchoStar is doing its best to lure fans of the gridiron to its DISH Network service. The nation’s second largest satellite TV provider has started to push its Football 24/7 package - which includes the NFL Network - for a starting price of $30 per month which includes high-def.

DISH said subscribers to the football package will receive ESPN NFL Network’s lineup of eight exclusive regular season games on Thursday and Saturday nights - all beginning on Thanksgiving later this year. The network will also air 52 preseason games, including 34 in HD, along with director’s cut game replays, past Super Bowl games and other classic NFL matchups.

Not included in the monthly subscription fees, but a way for football fans to get more into their favorite team’s season, DISH is also offering custom satellite dish covers. The company has an exclusive line of DishSkinz that come in several different designs, including all 32 NFL team logos. DISH said prices for the Skinz are determined by the local retailer.

I want my HDTV …and Dish Network gives it FREE!

Dish Network has put their money where their mouth is and will offer their DishHD HDTV programming package free for 6 Months! This is a clear sign that Dish Network is and will remain the leader of HD while Dish Networks competitors speculate what their companies potential and future HD plans are.

Dish Networks new High-Definition programming offer starts tomorrow on August 15, 2007 and continues through January 31, 2008.  –New qualifying customers who subscribe to the DishHD programming package upon activation with an HD MPEG-4 receiver (which Dish Network gives away free!)  may be eligible to receive DishHD FREE for up to 6 months! Dish has also said that qualifying existing customers who upgrade to the DishHD package for the first time may also be eligible to participate in the free offer as well. Six months of DishHD high-definition programming offer represents potential customer savings of up to $120.00!

So what kind of free programming will customers get with DishHD free for 6 Months?  How about 39 channels of Dish Networks top HD channels available. The DishHD package includes the current high-definition programming offered by DISH Network, including National Geographic HD with the exception of premium movie channels, which require a separate subscription to HBO, Cinemax, Showtime, and/or Starz Movie Pack.

Dish Network’s Dish HD isn’t a side offer, it is clear this is their forefront approach to what television should be in the future. It is clear that HD programming is not only growing exponentially, but it is virtually the new standard in television viewing today.

With 30% of U.S. households currently owning at least 1 HDTV and 36% of U.S. households projected to buy at least 1 HDTV by the end of 2007, the HDTV market will see a growth of 20% in one year. Dish Network understands the current and future needs of HD and has positioned themselves well.
