posted in Dish News |

On July 11, 2007, we launched HD locals in Birmingham, Alabama!

The launch of these HD locals brings us to 33 high-definition local network markets, which represents approximately 52 % of U.S. households. To receive HD locals, customers must have a model ViP211TM, DISH 411, ViP222TM, ViP622 DVRTM, or ViP722 DVRTM with an antenna pointed to the correct orbital location, and a subscription to DishHDTM or HD Enabling Fee and their local network programming package.

The Birmingham, Alabama, DMA HD Locals will include, ABC WJSU, CBS WIAT, FOX WBRC and NBC WVTM. The Locals will be broadcasted from the 119° orbital location. This will give customers HD local channels in addition to the digital standard-definition channels that DISH Network offers in this market.
