According to a recent Bloomberg article, DISH Network Executive Vice President Tom Cullen, mentioned a deal that the satellite TV company is working on that is similar to DirecTV Home Premiere offerings, making movies available to DISH subscribers just eight weeks after the debut in theaters. Retail price for renting a premium movie through DISH Cinema is said to also be competitive with the Home Premiere $29.99 cost. No set offer has been made yet by any of the movie studios that are currently working with DirecTV, including: Universal Pictures, Warner Bros., Twentieth Century Fox and Sony Corp.

While DISH Network execs continue to work out a deal to bring premium video on demand to its DISH Cinema platform, viewers can check out the latest movie rentals available through DISH Cinema without having to wait in line for RedBox. Now playing on DISH Cinema: ‘Justin Bieber: Never Say Never,’ ‘Blue Valentine’ and ‘No Strings Attached.’ To learn more about DISH Network video on demand, visit authorized retailer, DISH Systems, online or call 866-989-3474.
Just as NFL fans everywhere are discussing Super Bowl day party plans, Gleeks are also doing a little preparing of their own for the big day by counting down to a different tune…as one of the most anticipated ‘Glee’ episodes: “The Sue Sylvester Bowl Shuffle” airs on DISH Network after the Super Bowl, Sunday night. The cast of ‘Glee’ never disappoints or fails to surprise fans of the show by delivering some of the most talked about performances on TV. The brand new episode set for Sunday, February 6 on FOX will keep the Super Bowl theme of the day alive as the McKinley High School football team plays for the state championship. Even though there won’t be any cheerleaders at the Super Bowl on Sunday, viewers can get their fix by tuning in to ‘Glee’ as the cheer squad competes in the local regionals cheerleading competition.

The ‘Thriller’ performance on the football field during the state championship already has Gleeks talking, listen to a preview of the ‘Glee’ cast’s rendition of his hit song. The students will not only sing a mashup of ‘Thriller’ and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ ‘Heads Will Roll,’ but Lea Michele (Rachel) will be singing Lady Antebellum’s ‘Need You Now,’ Cory Monteith will perform ‘She’s Not There’ by The Zombies and a Destiny’s Child cover of the track ‘Bills, Bills, Bills’ will be sung by Darren Criss. ‘Glee’ is also known for its famous cameos, and in this particular episode, Katie Couric will be making an appearance to interview Jane Lynch (Sue Sylvester).

Watch the Green Bay Packers take the Pittsburgh Steelers in Super Bowl XLV on FOX, then get ready for one “thrilling” episode of ‘Glee,’ part of DISH Network programming. To order DISH Network to make sure you don’t miss the Super Bowl and ‘Glee’s’ “The Sue Sylvester Bowl Shuffle,” visit authorized DISH Network retailer DISH Systems online or call 866-989-3474, especially if you are a DirecTV subcriber in the Northwest Region of the U.S. and currently do not receive FOX on your pay TV service because you don’t want to miss out on one of the most talked about days of the new year!
As NFL tradition has it, the 2011 Pro Bowl that pits the best players in the NFC and AFC against each other will air the Sunday before the Super Bowl on DISH Network. Some of the biggest names in the NFL will be making their appearance in this weekend’s Pro Bowl including Philip Rivers of the San Diego Chargers and Michael Vick, a Philadelphia Eagle. This year’s Pro Bowl will take place at Aloha Stadium in hot Honolulu, Hawaii at 7:00 PM ET on FOX.

Not only will Rivers (AFC) and Vick (NFC) be the two starting QB’s on Sunday, but NFL fans can also expect appearance from the following players: DeSean Jackson, Calvin Johnson, Roddy White, Brandon Meriweather, Peyton Manning (back up QB for Rivers), Arian Foster, Michael Griffin, Vonta Leach, Miles Austin and Larry Fitzgerald. Teams that will not be represented during the Pro Bowl include include: Cincinnati Bengals, Seattle Seahawks, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Buffalo Bills. Visit the NFLonline for a full list of the Pro Bowl starting lineup. As for the team’s coaches this year, Bill Belichick (New England Patriots) will be leading the AFC and Mike Smith (Atlanta Falcons) will be coaching the NFC players.

Unfortunately, DirecTV subscribers in the NorthWest regions of the states including parts of Washington and Oregon will be missing out on the Pro Bowl and possibly even the Super Bowl if a retrans deal with a local FOX affiliate can’t be met. If you are one of these DirecTV subscribers that has fallen victim to programming loss, just make the switch to order DISH Network with FOX. To learn how you can get reliable programming from DISH Network, visit authorized retailer DISH Systems online or call 866-989-3474.

First off I would like to say Cheers to DIRECTV who has recently expanded its high-definition television programming at an increasing speed, but unfortunately my “cheers” are followed by “jeers”. DirecTV customers are being given an ultimatum…either pay an additional $4.99 more each month or you will lose three of DIRECTV’s more popular high-definition channel lineups. Beginning December 15th DIRECTV subscribers will lose viewer favorites like HDNet, HDNet Movies and Universal HD unless they agree to shovel out more money each month. DIRECTV has created a HD programming package known as DIRECTV HD Extra Pack that will feature these channels for an additional $10.00 per month.

Unfortunately Directv customers, it doesn’t stop there. In addition to viewers losing HDNet, HDNet Movies and Universal HD, DIRECTV is also planning on moving channels like Smithsonian HD, MGM HD and MHD (MTV’s new HD channel) over to their new DIRECTV HD Extra Pack. Somebody needs to remind DIRECTV that they need us more than we need them. Although DIRECTV is feeling a little money hungry other satellite providers like Dish Network are reminding its customers what real customer service is all about. Dish Network is currently running an offer that allows customers to purchase a 200 channel plan for $49.99 guaranteed until 2009. Dish Network’s new package dubbed the Dish DVR Advantage is an all-inclusive package featuring 200 of your favorite channels, including SIRIUS music and your local channels, plus 2-room DVR service and Free Standard Professional Installation.

For more information on all Dish Network has to offer call 1-866-989-3474 or visit their website at www.dish-network.com.
