Dish Network’s Public Interest Channel Package

On February 23, 2006 Dish Network answered their customers request and assembled a package of 20 Public Interest Channels that are available for free! The Public Interest Channel Package isn’t automatically added, but, if a Dish Subscriber wishes to receive the programming package, they just need to ask their Customer Service Representative to add it on to their other DISH Network programming.

As far as what Dish Network Satellite Antenna is needed to receive the Dish Network’s Public Interest Channel Package, a subscriber will need a 2nd antenna pointed either the 61.5° and 148° orbital locations. This is due to the fact that 5 of the 20 channels are transmitted from the61.5° and 148° orbital locations. Since the Public Interest Channel Package is free, a customer who wants those channels broadcast from the 61.5° and 148° orbital locations will need to add/upgrade their antenna at their own expense.

DishFAMILY subscribers have been excluded from select Public Interest Channel programming due to potentially offensive or mature content. DishFAMILY customers may request this a la carte package of all Public Interest Channels with the understanding that it is at their own discretion.

Hey El Paso, Dish Network has your Cowboys and the NFL Network

It seems that Dallas Cowboys fans who can’t get the NFL Network through Time Warner Cable are fed-up and are asking the Governor and Legislature of Texas to intervene. Since Time Warner Cable doesn’t have the NFL Network in their basic cable lineup, subscribers won’t be able to watch two coming Dallas Cowboys games. Time Warner who serves El Paso won’t negotiate with the NFL Network to include the channel in their basic package.

El Paso Dallas Cowboy fans do have an alternative to Time Warner, an alternative that has the NFL Network in it’s basic package and a basic package that is cheaper. The alternative is Dish Network, whose basic channel package is 100% digital audio and video, includes 100 channels for $29.99 and best of all includes the NFL Channel.

Dish Network also has the El Paso local channels available, so El Paso residents will stay up to speed of Time Warner trying to justify not having the NFL Network to city officials.

With Dish Network and the NFL Channel, El Paso, Texas football fans will be able to watch the Dallas-Green Bay game on Nov. 29 and the Dallas-Carolina game on Dec. 22. These games are not going to be available on Time Warner.

In June of 2006 Dish Network and the NFL Network announced a multi-year extension to bring many new advanced features to customers of DISH Network satellite TV service. The deal allowed Dish Network to carry the NFL Network which airs over 160 games that are televised nationally including the NFL Network’s regular season primetime game package on Thanksgiving. Dish Network also has provides the NFL Network’s high-definition channel.

Best of all Dish Network added the NFL Network to the America’s Top 100 programming package. With NFL Network’s exclusive access into key league events, football fans will have access to nearly 2,000 original hours of programming on NFL Network. In 2007, the NFL Network will air 168 football games, including 8 primetime regular season NFL games, 52 preseason games, 75 game re-airs, 31 NFL Europe League contests, the Insight Bowl and the Senior Bowl. The NFL Network airs seven days a week, 24 hours a day on a year-round basis and is the first television network fully dedicated to the NFL and the sport of football.

To Order Dish Network with the NFL Network and 100 other top channels for $29.99 a month, visit Dish Network / NFL Network For EL Paso

And the Battle Continues…Dish Network HD versus DirecTV HD

Recent news sheds light on the ever growing gap between Satellite TV companies and cable TV providers. For many years cable TV provided a larger span of television channels in HD but recent polls show Satellite TV is leading the way.

Dish Network HD vs. Direct TV HD is the recent big debate among many viewers. New consensus supports the fact that DishNetwork simply gives its viewers more options. The Dish Network DishHD HDTV program line-up is bigger and better than ever before, featuring channels for everyone from young children to adults. Dish Network continues to give their viewers choices in superior Hi-definition quality regardless of whether or not you are a NFL fan. Although DirecTV offers its customers four free months of service with the purchase of their NFL package, Dish Network HD has got them beat, allowing customers to receive six free months of service and a free HD receiver regardless of whether you want to tune in to watch WorldSport HD, HDNet Movies or cuddle up with the kiddos and watch the Family Room HD, just a few of the many channels provided by DishNetwork HD only.

ESPN Supercharging DISH’s NASCAR Effort

Please Visit Sky Report For The Best In Satellite News

As if offering the “most technologically-advanced coverage of NASCAR in motorsports television history” wasn’t enough, ESPN said Tuesday that it will be taking its efforts to another level with the debut of the ESPN DISH Tech Center mobile television studio. The sports behemoth is launching the new advancement this weekend with its coverage of the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup in Indianapolis.

With the help of EchoStar, the ESPN DISH Tech Center will travel to all of ESPN’s NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Race venues to be “utilized” by the network’s producers and announcers for content segments that will air during race telecasts. In addition to ESPN and ESPN on ABC coverage of the final 17 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series races, segments produced from the DISH Tech Center will air during NASCAR Busch Series races that are held on the same tracks.

The studio will contain the ESPN Chevy Cutaway Car that has been used this year in ESPN’s NASCAR coverage, as well as a cutaway of a Chevrolet Car of Tomorrow being raced in some cup events this season and next. ESPN said the DISH Tech Center will also have room for displays of other race car parts like engines, transmissions and shock absorbers.

ESPN’s Tim Brewer, a two-time NASCAR champion crew chief, and other analysts will report from the studio during race telecasts to “help viewers better understand the technical and mechanical aspects of NASCAR racing,” the network said.

The DISH Tech Center is being called “the highlight” of a multi-year, multimedia agreement for NASCAR between ESPN and EchoStar consisting of media in all NASCAR races on ABC, ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPN Deportes; exposure on ESPN Audio and in ESPN The Magazine; a SportsCenter weekly-sponsored NASCAR report; a custom promotion on ESPN.com; and six in-car cameras per season to be featured within the NASCAR Busch Series.

ESPN’s NASCAR NEXTEL Cup coverage begins with the Allstate 400 at the Brickyard July 29 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway and will include all 10 races in the “Chase for the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup” televised by ESPN on ABC.
