Watch Premiere of ‘Magic Beyond Words The J.K. Rowling Story’ on Lifetime Television

This last weekend, the final Harry Potter installment hit the movie theatres as fans camped out at movie theatres across the country to get their last fix of the wizard story empire, author J.K. Rowling has created over the years. A new Lifetime original movie will premiere, ’Magic Beyond Words: The J.K. Rowling Story,’ on Monday night at 8pm playing out J.K. Rowling’s own personal “rags to riches” story, including her fictional novel that thrust her into the spotlight as one of the richest authors in the world, thanks to an imaginary wizard and his gifted friends.

According to HuffPost Entertainment, “If you are interested in the woman behind the “Harry Potter” novels, then this movie is a great place to learn some of the basic facts. Poppy Montgomery takes you into the early life of Jo Rowling and lets you see her evolution into J. K. Rowling.”

HBO’s 104 Emmy Nominations Put the Premium TV Network on Top

The 63rd Emmy Award nominees were announced Thursday, July 14, revealing HBO as the network leader for the 12th year in a row with 104 nominations. Broadcast networks still fell 54 nominations short of the premium movie channel, as CBS nabbed 2nd place with 50 nominations. HBO’s miniseries, ‘Mildred Pierce,’ starring Kate Winslet, led with 21 show nominations, followed by AMC’s ‘Mad Men,’ another HBO drama ‘Boardwalk Empire,’ and the ABC comedy series ‘Modern Family.’

G4 Set to Commemorate Ryan Dunn in ‘Attack of the Show’ Special Followed by ‘Proving Ground’

Known as one of today’s greatest entertainers, often at his own expense, Ryan Dunn, was most famous for his prankster role in dare devil meets comedy shows like ‘Jackass’ while making regular appearances on the G4 network, most recently hosting ‘Proving Ground,’ another lighthearted reality series. Ryan Dunn was tragically involved in a fatal car accident just a few short weeks ago, but his memory lives on through his fans as G4, part of DISH Network programming, plans a celebratory tribute to honor Dunn’s life on an exclusive episode of ‘Attack of the Show,’ followed by an episode from Dunn’s G4 series, ‘Providing Ground.’

The ‘Attack of the Show’ tribute at 7pm Tuesday, July 19, will feature a montage of clips from Dunn’s ‘most memorable moments on G4′ in addition to interviews with the friends and colleagues closest to the late TV personality. G4 President, Neal Tiles described Dunn as “an incredible talent who will be missed tremendously by his many fans, including G4 viewers,” and how it was “important to all of us at G4 to find a way to celebrate his life and pay tribute to him.”

With the blessing of Dunn’s family, G4 will continue to air the remaining nine episodes of ‘Proving Ground,’ a show Dunn hosted with ‘Attack of the Show’s’ Jessica Chobot as the two go about “determining if great pop culture moments can be executed in real life through action-oriented trials, stunts and experiments,” (Media Market Journal). The premiere episode of ‘Proving Ground’ aired back in June and will continue to re-air on its original time slot at 8pm, Tuesday nights on G4. Watch the Dramatic Return of ‘Bachelorette’ Villain Bentley as One Suitor Leaves – Only on ABC

We’re more than halfway through ‘The Bachelorette,’ season 7, with only six remaining contestants left, and Ashley Hebert is still hung up on “the one who got away,” otherwise known to the rest of the world watching as this season’s villain, Bentley. After five episodes of watching Ashley’s insecurities reach new heights, while she continues to battle with her feelings for Bentley, it’s no wonder that host, Chris Harrison (pictured) and the producers will do anything to pull some strings to get Bentley in Hong Kong to discuss his abrupt and selfish exit with the Bachelorette.

*SPOILER ALERT* Naturally, the remaining men are up in arms when Bentley is rumored to return to tonight’s broadcast of the show so he can once again compete for Ashley’s heart or in Bentley’s case to see how many times he can make her cry while making his confessional interviews all about how he wishes former ‘Bachelor’ contestant Emily would have been this season’s ‘Bachelorette.’ One of the guys in tonight’s episode on ABC, is so infuriated about Ashley’s decision to bring Bentley back into the competition that he leaves – rightfully so, in my opinion – I’ll be shocked if the rest of the guys don’t walk out with him. Of course Ames, “the nice guy” will probably stay only because he is still suffering from a concussion as a result of last week’s group date in a boxing ring, which means he probably is having short term memory loss anyways.

In addition to a comeback appearance by this season’s most talked about, heartless contestant, Ashley will also go on one group date and two one-on-one dates. The group date will have a much less violent or crude premise, while still being competitive in nature, as the guys split up into three teams of two in a dragon boat race competition. ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ Returns to DISH TV Thursday Night

From tap to ballet, break dancing and isolations, America sure has its fair share of talent when it comes to the performing arts, with no style of dance discounted. The original dance reality series, ‘So You Think You Can Dance,’ (SYTYCD) returns to FOX television, part of DISH Network programming in HD on Thursday, May 26 at 8pm. ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ provides a national platform for dancers from all over the country to showcase their niche style of dance while ultimately displaying versatility in order to make it to the top spot on the show. FOX will air the two-hour season 8 premiere of SYTYCD Thursday night, featuring the first tryouts in Atlanta Georgia and the Bay Area in Northern California. All different walks of dancers take their chance at wowing the judges, but similar to the wannabe singers who tried out for ‘American Idol,’ many hopefully trying out for SYTYCD make you wonder what type of competition they think they’re actually trying out for…clearly not a dancing one.

Discovery Channel Covers Recent Tornado Outbreak in ‘Storm Chasers’ Programming Exclusive

The recent tornado outbreak that violently swept through the Southern part of the United States, from Alabama to Mississippi, destroyed the lives of over 300 people caused by at least 200 tornadoes. The must-be-crazy ‘Storm Chasers’ on the Discovery Channel, part of DISH Network programming, were there to catch most of the whirlwind action that ripped towns apart. The Discovery Channel will be airing the exclusive footage that was shot from April 27, 2011 in a special entitled ‘Tornado Rampage 2011,’ on Sunday, May 22 at 9pm ET/PT.

According to a Discovery Channel press release, the ‘Storm Chasers’ crew was working on their new season of ‘Storm Chasers’ on the day that 200 tornados broke through the South. Never-before-scene footage from the film crew that historic day will be part of the ‘Tornado Rampage 2011‘ feature TV show. ‘Storm Chasers’ Meterologist, Reed Timmer, who was on scene at the time of the outbreak, commented on the rarity of a natural disaster of that magnitude: “In all my years of chasing tornadoes, this was hands down the most unforgettable day. The intensity of the storm activity and the sheer number of tornadoes that touched down is overwhelming and heartbreaking. By studying this historic day we hope to learn more information for our research and help better predict tornadoes and save lives.”

Television Networks Announce Programming Cancellations and Pick Ups on DISH TV

Five of television’s major networks recently announced programming cancellations for shows that won’t be making a comeback appearance next season. Some of the cancellation announcements were expected, but other shows with a loyal fan base came as unwanted news to TV viewers who will be losing some of their favorite shows. Although many series on these five big networks have seen their last day, it does leave schedule openings for new shows to test their luck with audiences and earn viewership from some of the lost shows. NBC has already released some of the trailers it has picked up for the next season including a well mixed set of comedies and dramas to reel viewers in. You’ll find two of NBC’s new series trailers below, the first of ‘The Playboy Club’ based off the “icon that changed American culture,” and ‘Are You There Vodka? It’s Me Chelsea,’ a made-for-TV version of Chelsea Handler’s best-selling novel.

Saying Goodbye to the Oprah Winfrey Show – Final Episode May 25 on DISH TV

It’s the end of an era as TV talk show host legend, Oprah Winfrey, signs off from her daytime television talk show, the Oprah Winfrey Show, after 25 years to focus on her latest project, the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN), part of DISH Network programming. The countdown to Oprah’s last episode is more bitter than sweet in many of her fans’ opinions, with some viewers having grown up watching Ms. Winfrey every weekday of their lives. With only ten episodes left, Oprah Winfrey will be hosting a lot of “last times” on her show including Thursday’s ‘Last Ever Makeover Extravaganza’ featuring the nation’s top fashion designers: Michael Kors, Diane Von Furstenberg (DVF) and Tory Burch (check out the preview below).

The remaining ten episodes have been mostly kept under wraps by the HARPO Studios staff to help build viewer anticipation for the last week and a half left of the show. According to TheDaily.com, two of the last ten episodes of the Oprah Winfrey Show will be dedicated to “Million Little Pieces” author, James Frey – a two-episode worthy interview being promoted as “the biggest controversy in Oprah Show history” after reports that his famous book actually included fabricated pieces. The online news outlet is also reporting that Oprah’s close celebrity friends, couple Will and Jada Pinkett Smith will be some of her last guests on the finale episode, May 25 (no news yet as to whether the couple’s children Jaden and Willow will be making an appearance). Other than those two announcements, it’s still up in the air as to whether hopeful guests like Oprah’s longtime partner Stedman Graham will appear on the finale episode along with friend and former Oprah Show guest Tom Cruise with wife Katie Holmes.
