DISH Network Introduces New Blockbuster Movie Streaming Service- Blockbuster Movie Pass

For those of you that are tired of the ups and downs of Netflix, now have another option for streaming service. Earlier this week Netflix released a letter apologizing for the lack of communication when they increased prices a few months ago, yet they never explained why they increased their prices. Netflix also announced that they would be completely severing their streaming service from their DVD-by-mail service and renaming it Qwikster.  DISH Network has provided the answer to Netflix, today DISH Network and Blockbuster launched the Blockbuster Movie Pass. The Blockbuster Movie Pass is a complete media rental service and features streaming movies and TV shows along with movies and games-by-mail. Blockbuster streaming service will add content from Starz, Epix, Sony Movie Channel, and Encore to the already full on demand library that features Fox, TBS, TNT, Discovery, AMC, CN, DIY, HGTV, FOOD and History. This combination of content will be available to DISH Network customers through DishNetwork.com, while Blockbuster.com will continue to stream its On Demand service.

Blockbuster Movie Pass will be available on October 1^st 2011 exclusively for DISH Network customers. Blockbuster Movie Pass offers customers the most extensive library of movies, games, and TV shows available and includes; over 100,000 titles, thousands of movies available to stream to your TV or PC, Unlimited movies, TV shows and games by mail and unlimited in-store exchanges, plus over 20 additional DISH Network Channels. The subscription starts at $10 a month and includes DVD rentals by mail and in stores. DISH customers that sign up before the end of January can take advantage of their offer for the service free for one year with certain packages. Don’t worry all you non-Dish subscribers, later this year Blockbuster plans to unveil a streaming service for non-Dish subscribers. The addition of the streaming service to Blockbusters menu will better position the company to compete with Netflix.
