DISH Network DVR Conversion

The DVR Conversion feature offers customers the ability to convert their single-tuner model ViP211 and ViP211k receiver into a DVR by connecting it to a compatible USB 2.0 external hard drive through the receiver’s USB port. The DVR Conversion feature was honored with an International CES Innovations Design and Engineering Award earlier this year at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
With the purchase of an eligible external hard drive and payment of a one-time activation fee of $39.99, DISH Network customers will be able to add DVR functionality to their model ViP211 and ViP211k receivers! Customers may request to activate an external hard drive on their account by calling the DISH Network Customer Service Center at 1-888-241-2205 after the external hard drive has been installed.
DVR Conversion Features – DISH Network customers with a model ViP211 or ViP211k receiver connected to a compatible USB 2.0 external hard drive can enjoy features such as:
*Nine-day electronic programming guide *Name-based recording
*Search-based timer capabilities
*Pause / replay live TV
*Fast forward and fast reverse
*30-second skip forward
*10-second skip back
*Ability to play back a stored program while recording another
*DVR functionality on both the satellite tuner and built-in OTA (over-the-air) tuner (Customers may view a recorded program while recording both a satellite program and an OTA program onto the external hard drive)
*Pop-up displays that give the viewer the opportunity to review and choose between scheduled recording conflicts
