DISH Network’s New National HD Programming – Dish is the leader of HD!
August 12, 2007 No CommentsDish Network is the clear leader in HD programming and on August 15th, they are expanding their Dish HD offerings with 7 more HD channels. The new channels are a part of their Leader in HD campaign that kicks off in mid August. Along with the 7 New HD channels, Dish Network has launched 8 High Definition Regional Sports Networks and one additional HD local market in Birmingham Alabama.
The New National HD Programming on DISH Network
Channel MHD launches on August 15, 2007 and is a music-centric high-definition TV channel featuring programming from MTV, VH1, and CMT. MHD programming includes original programming such as a weekly music video countdown show, artist interviews, backstage extras, and a concert series. MHD will be available in DishHD with AT100 or higher.
Discovery HD, not to be confused with Discovery Theater HD, launches on August 15, 2007and offers the finest informative entertainment about nature and the environment, science and technology, history, adventure, and the people who share our world. Discovery HD is a simulcast of the standard definition Discovery Channel and will be available on DishHD with AT100 or higher
TLC (The Learning Channel) HD launches on August 15, 2007 and features world-class documentaries on history, human behavior, and science, and “how-to” programs featuring expert advice from the pros on cooking, gardening and home improvement. TLC HD will be available in Dish Network’s DishHD with AT100 or higher
Animal Planet HD, launching on August 15, 2007 brings nonstop entertainment for animal lovers of all ages featuring a full range of premiere animal programming 24 hours a day from Discovery Network’s natural history library including wildlife documentaries, pet care know-how, drama, family entertainment, event reportage and classic TV. Animal Planet HD will be in Dish Networks DishHD package with AT200 or higher.
The Science Channel HD launches on August 15, 2007 and is devoted to the wonders of science and The Science Channel explores life’s greatest mysteries and smallest wonders. It is the only network devoted entirely to the wonders of science, including in-depth coverage of science news. From the distant corners of the cosmos to the essential microscopic foundations of life, to the science of survival in extreme environments, no topic is too small for The Science Channel. Long awaited be sports fans, the Golf Channel / Versus HD launching on August 15, 2007. This new HD channel is a simulcast of the Golf Channel programming by day and a simulcast of Versus (formerly OLN) content by night. Under the Versus brand, the channel will initially offer HD hockey, boxing, bull riding and field sports, which will air from 7PM to midnight. Golf Channel programming will include an exclusive HD airing of the PGA Tour and hundreds of hours of play from other tournaments, and will run from noon to 7PM. The Golf Channel / Versus HD will be available on DishHD with AT250.
The History Channel HD wil be launching on September 1, 2007 and is one of the leading cable-TV networks featuring compelling original, nonfiction specials and series that bring history to life in a powerful and entertaining manner across multiple platforms. The network provides an inviting place where people experience history in new and exciting ways. The History Channel HD will be on Dish Networks DishHD with AT100 or higher.
