Access DISH Network Satellite TV on Your PC

Ever get bummed when you’re on a trip, unwinding at the end of the night and wish you could access all of the DVR shows you’re missing right in your hotel room? DISH Network has solved this dilemma by giving its paid subscribers free access to DISHOnline and DISH Remote Access both of which can stream live or recorded DISH programming directly to your PC or laptop.

In order to use DISH Remote Access, subscribers will need to have high-speed, broadband Internet connection for their laptop and Slingbox technology. In order to manage your DVR receiver to schedule recordings and search for shows your favorite actor will appear in, you’ll need to have at least one of the following browsers set up: Safari or Safari for a mobile device, Firefox version 2.0, 3.0, 4.0 or Internet Explorer 6.0, 7.0, 8.0. DISH Network subscribers also have a couple of different options when it comes to adding Slingbox technology to the TV in order to stream live programming and access your DVR:

• Subscribers can purchase a new DVR with Slingbox capabilities, the most recent version being DISH SlingLoaded DVR (ViP 922), which would not require any additional hardware
• Your current DVR can be upgraded to the newest DVR model that includes Slingbox technology
• Add a Slingbox adapter to your current DISH DVR receiver, this would be a stand-alone product that connects the DVR to Slingbox abilities

OK, so maybe you won’t be watching TV on your laptop while playing 18 holes of golf or out on the tennis courts (and definitely not while swimming) but hey – it’s at least all possible now with DISH Remote Access!
