Sometimes it can be frustrating when the signal on your television set goes out, especially if it’s right in the middle of a March Madness tournament game. Before you get too worked up and call your local DISH Network serviceman to come out and “fix your TV” there’s a few easy steps you can take to make sure your satellite TV system is working properly.
If you are missing a satellite signal on your TV, you can try pressing the ‘SAT’ button located near the top of your remote control – this will put the TV back in satellite mode. You might also want to check to make sure that your cable connection is tight and secure on your receiver’s back end.
If you’re having remote control issues and seem to be unable to switch between channels and make basic functions on your TV work, such as turning it on or off, then you maybe need to replace the batteries. It’s best to replace them every so often just to be sure that you don’t run into that inconvenience in the future.
Sometimes your DISH receiver has been working so hard that your TV screen freezes, goes blank or even makes that loud noise when it gets fuzzy. You can try resetting your receiver by pressing the ‘Reset’ button on the actual receiver box itself. You’ll also want to take note of which channel or input you have your TV set to (channel 3 in the room with the receiver or channel 60 or 73 for rooms without a receiver).
